Abstract

Managing family businesses becomes complex in the development of their activities, as they often lack established processes or protocols and operate empirically. Tourism businesses are no exception, facing constant challenges in their daily operations and mostly addressing incidents according to the needs of the moment they arise. In the context of this region, these barriers are even more evident, since tourism businesses are established to generate employment and income without considering training or professional development. These shortcomings place greater emphasis on their management. The objective of this research is to determine how the management of family-owned tourism businesses can overcome these management barriers. The research methodology employed is a descriptive-argumentative documentary approach. Through analysis, the study will identify potential barriers hindering the efficiency and effectiveness of management in family-run tourism businesses, thereby generating specific recommendations for their implementation and establishing continuous improvement in the provision of their tourism services.
