Tourism, Air Transport, and the Economy: The Case of Mexico and Spain
Abstract
Throughout this paper, an analysis is carried out of the evolution of air transport in both countries. This study pays close attention to the strong tourism-oriented characteristics of both nations.
To this end, it is necessary to work with elements that make it possible to compare two countries that are very different yet closely linked. The basic criteria are based on patterns of economic behavior and the evolution of air transport indicators.
The analysis focuses on those indicators that are comparable for the economies of Mexico and Spain. Likewise, relationships between economic indicators and the air traffic market are explored and identified.
