Safety aspects in sites of tourist interest in, “El Chalten “and “Glaciers National Park”, Southern Patagonia, Argentina
Abstract
In the northwest of the province of Santa Cruz and 213 km. From the city of “El Calafate”, in Argentine Patagonia, is the small town of “El Chaltén”, considered the National Hiking Capital of Argentina and known worldwide for its difficult-to-climb mountains: Cerro Chaltén and Cerro Torre and also for its glaciers. You can also practice rafting, kayaking, horseback riding, sport fishing, etc. El Chaltén is located within the Los Glaciares National Park.
The objective is to analyze the Security aspects of each of the tourist offers, which involve visitors, tourists, and tourism workers. A methodology is proposed that, based on the identification of the dangers associated with the various activities, allows us, as a diagnosis, to assess the potential risk and based on these results, recommend the corresponding Prevention measures.
It is intended to highlight the importance of eliminating or minimizing the risks present and, in this way, ensuring a pleasant, enriching, and safe experience for all those involved in the tourist activities of the sites analyzed.
