Abstract

As the global population ages, achieving active aging has become a key component of sustainable development worldwide. Our research aims to understand the preferences of elderly tourists by investigating their participation in activities and use of digital technology during travel, thereby offering better services in this field. Utilizing the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Active Aging Theory, we conducted a binary logistic regression analysis on data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS). Our quantitative analysis revealed significant exercise preferences among the elderly and highlighted the positive impact of digital technology on senior tourism. These findings suggest that tailored activities and enhanced digital services can promote more engaging and fulfilling travel experiences for the elderly, contributing to their overall well-being and active aging.
