ANALYSIS OF TOURISM SEASONALITY IN TABASCO
Abstract
The State of Tabasco has important natural and cultural tourist attractions, as well as land and air connectivity. To serve tourism, 12,647 hotel rooms are available in categories from one to five stars; however, it has not achieved a good position in the preferences of the recreational tourism market. When low seasons, demand peaks are noticeable for its captive market in the business category, whose stay does not exceed one night. Otherwise, in high seasons there is a drastic drop in hotel occupancy, presenting the phenomenon of inverted temporality. The combination of natural and cultural attractions with quality services has not been enough to gain recreational tourism inflow. The study is approached from a seasonal focus with an emphasis on the offer, taking as a point of reference lodging establishments in the state of Tabasco. The deductive method with descriptive design is used to review the information obtained and therefore determine what are the causes that limit the permanence of the tourist.
