Gastronomic tourism: taste and tradition
Abstract
The present work is the result of a research on gastronomic tourism in Mexico. One of the activities that most attracts tourists is food, as it manages to awaken the interest of visitors, and to taste it capture the essence of the place where it is prepared. The local food gives us to know the cultural activities of the area, the way it is produced, cooking and consumption gives us an idea about the work of a specific population. The objective is to analyze some aspects of this type of tourism, especially the routes recognized as gastronomic and obtain information on the typical dishes that are prepared and with the information obtained to propose strategies to achieve greater dissemination. Typical food represents a trait of authenticity, hence travelers feel interested, since it is an attractive tourist potential that has been demonstrated by other countries that have incorporated it into their offer, creating routes that allow visitors to get to know and taste the dishes, sweets and typical drinks. A documentary research was carried out and secondary sources were consulted, which included a literature review of related topics on this type of tourism and routes in Mexico, as well as traditional foods. The results obtained allowed to know the gastronomic offer, as well as the regions that are included and the main dishes that are part of the Mexican cuisine considered as world heritage.References
