Concelho de Almeida – diversidade cultural e influências transfronteiriças
Abstract
The central border of Portugal with Castylla y Leon in Spain, combines natural and cultural resources of great value, which must be articulated in a complementary way in an integrated territorial vision, reinforcing a broader market and combining primary and secondary resources that, due to differences and proximity, allow the construction of a composite tourism product. These spaces present, through history and nature, valuable resources that allow the expansion of the tourist market by promoting local development. This research aims to survey the resources of the territory of Almeida in order to develop a tourist itinerary with thematic circuits that lead the tourist to experience the natural and cultural heritage, emphasizing the Spanish influence on the way of being of the local community. The identity of the border does not disappear with the line of physical separation, acquiring new meanings for those who live it every day and for those who cross it and can develop recreational, sporting and cultural processes, in the face of the given resources. Firstly, a bibliographic review was carried out on cross-border influence, followed by a survey of the resources of this county, and interviews were conducted on both sides of the border to observe the multicultural presence in Almeida.
