Abstract

The importance of river beaches for the practice of nautical activities and nautical tourism are essential for the development and consolidation of a tourist product. Nautical tourism emerges as an important product to boost a territory, since the development of river

beaches will involve the creation of accesses, support structures such as bathrooms, parking lots, hotel and restaurant facilities, as well as the surveillance of river beaches. for security purposes.
In this sense, this study aims to explore the current context of the offer of nautical activities on existing river beaches in the Middle Tagus (Portugal), integrated in the Zêzere river basin, in the central region of Portugal as a nautical tourist offer.

The theoretical framework used to carry out this study is based on an exploratory approach and on comparative particular observations between the five river beaches analyzed.
The results point to the importance of river beaches for the development of nautical activities and for a greater appreciation of nautical stations and wakeboard resorts as a sustainable management strategy for the territory.

The study will contribute to a greater perception of the need for strategic planning as a competitive differential of river beaches oriented to the attractiveness and appreciation of the territory where the practice of nautical activity is possible to develop.
